Saco Valley Credit Union Donates $8,000 to Local Food Pantries for CU Kind Day

In celebration of CU Kind Day, a nationwide initiative demonstrating the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” Saco Valley Credit Union announced today a total financial contribution of $8,000, split evenly among four hunger-relief organizations across York County.

Saco Valley presented $2,000 checks to representatives from each of the following local food pantries:

  • Saco Food Pantry
  • Old Orchard Beach Community Food Pantry
  • Biddeford Food Pantry
  • Waterboro Community Food Pantry

The donations are aimed at assisting local food pantries as the demand for emergency food services rises ahead of the holiday season.

“Supporting the health and well-being of our neighbors is at the heart of everything we do. CU Kind Day provides a meaningful opportunity to put our cooperative principles into action and make a positive impact on the communities we serve. We are deeply grateful for the dedication and tireless efforts of these four food pantries as they work every day to combat food insecurity and support local families. It is an honor to support their mission,” said Kevin Partridge, President & CEO at Saco Valley Credit Union.

CU Kind Day brings together credit union staff, members, and volunteers across the country to perform acts of kindness, volunteer time, and donate resources to local community organizations.
