How Saco Valley Credit Union Cares

Dad and Baby

More than Money

Employees CARE

What you may not know is that it isn’t just the organization that supports our members. Employees of the Credit Union elect to have part of their paycheck taken out each pay period and put into what is called a CARES account. When an employee interacts with a member who is struggling, the employee can let leadership know, and a monetary amount from the CARES account may be given to the member to assist them to get through the tough time they are encountering.

Employees care about the financial success of our members. We are not here to push products and services on you. Employees are here to help SVCU members make smart banking and financial decisions. If this means doing something elsewhere, employees will be honest and upfront with you. While Saco Valley Credit Union often has great rates on loans and savings, there will be times that a different institution may have a better option. Employees will also be upfront with members about what is truly feasible based on expenses. If a member really can’t afford to finance a brand new car, even though they are technically approved for it, our employees may recommend a used car, where payments won’t burden the member to the point where they won’t be able to repay it. SVCU employees will have tough financial conversations with you to ensure that you are on the right path for financial success.
