2024 Scholarship Information
This year, SVCU is offering 2 scholarships that may be awarded to selected student recipients, attending a college or university in the Fall 2024 semester. To be eligible, the applicant must be a primary member of Saco Valley Credit Union both at time of application and at time of award.
Entry Requirements:
Primary Member of Saco Valley Credit Union.
The student applying must be the one completing the application.
Applicants must be planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college.
One application per student per year allowed.
Applicants must answer one of the following prompts:
Tell us about a time when you did or didn’t do something that in turn, taught you an important life lesson about banking or finances, and explain how it impacted your life.
OR
Tell us about a time when you volunteered and explain how that activity impacted your life and someone else’s.
Format:
The prompts must be answered in written essay format, between 400 and 600 words, and include photographs to substantiate the impact.
Awards:
2 scholarships may be awarded in 2024 in the amount of $2,500 each.

Disclosures
Saco Valley Credit Union Members who are high school seniors, current college students and non-traditional students are eligible to apply. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college in Fall 2024 and may either be high school seniors, current college students or entering as a non-traditional student at time of application. One application per student per year allowed. SVCU primary membership at both time of application and award is required. Any winner disbursements will be made directly to the school in the name of the applicant to go towards tuition and/or room and board.
