Meet Allyssa, Our New Branch Manager at 500 Main Street

If you’ve visited one of our Saco branches over the past couple of years, there’s a good chance you’ve met Allyssa. She joined Saco Valley CU as an MSR nearly two years ago, working between our Saco locations and stepping in wherever she was needed. Along the way, she also took the opportunity to train new MSRs and became someone her team could count on.  

Now, she’s taking the next step in her career as Branch Manager at 500 Main Street. 

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing with the Saco Valley family,” Allyssa said. 

For Allyssa, the move into management was a natural next step. She describes herself as a “go-getter” and knew she wanted to continue growing with Saco Valley after finding a place where she was happy and felt at home. 

Her previous management experience has also helped prepare her for the role. Before joining Saco Valley, Allyssa spent many years managing in the food industry, where she learned to think quickly, work fast and adapt to whatever situation came her way. 

Now, she’s looking forward to continuing to work with her team while helping more members discover everything 500 Main Street has to offer. 

“One of my big goals is to get more foot traffic coming into 500 Main Street,” Allyssa said. “There have been quite a few people come in recently who said, ‘I didn’t even know you had a full-service lobby!’” 

Building relationships with members and helping them get the most out of their accounts is one of her favorite parts of the job. Sometimes that means helping someone figure out how to get more from their account. Other times, it simply means being there to listen. 

“I enjoy building relationships with our members and having the opportunity to help in any way that I can,” she said. 

And if you want to get to know Allyssa beyond banking, there’s a fun story there, too. Before she found her way into financial services, she thought she might open a bakery. Her love of baking came from her grandmother, who always made cakes. 

Today, you’re more likely to find Allyssa at a concert than behind a bakery counter. She loves music of all kinds and says her favorite thing to do is go to a show; usually somewhere in the crowd, dancing her heart out.
